The challenge

The Wentworth Estate, nestled in the Surrey countryside, yet only a few miles from the capital, has been home to many famous people such as Agatha Christie and Sir Bruce Forsyth. It is also known as a world-renowned golfing venue steeped in history. Hosting many prestigious professional golf tournaments, attracting the world’s top players, Wentworth Club sought to mark its five years of centenary celebrations with a unique, and truly exclusive, publication. TCC were invited to create a book that would not only commemorate the occasion but would reveal and relive many of the fascinating stories behind this unique venue.

The solution

In response to Wentworth’s vision, we first set about the creation of logo, a derivative of the current club logo that would be used to promote the celebrations, before embarking on a comprehensive journey to encapsulate 100 remarkable years. Collaborating with IMG, ‘global leaders in world golf’, we assembled a team of expert historians and golf writers to craft a commemorative book. This historical piece delved into Wentworth’s rich legacy, capturing the essence of the club’s journey from the vison of builder Walter George Tarrant to the magnificent venue it is today.

The result

The exclusive book was launched in true Wentworth style during the 2022 BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club. A beautifully curated, invitation only, evening attended by golf legends such as Gary Player and Bernard Gallagher who had contributed with the foreword and the afterword respectively.

Acknowledged in the book, our collaboration with Wentworth Club, IMG and the expert team assembled played a pivotal role in creating a piece that wasn’t just a celebration but a legacy in itself.
