The challenge

Alongside the release of the latest Ghostbusters movie, Sony were looking to promote their new Xperia 5 III mobile phone. They were looking to create disruptive activity in a shopping centre near a cinema, that showcased both the new phone and the new film to attract qualified footfall.

The solution

To combine the nostalgia of the original film with the latest instalment of the Ghostbusters storyline, we created an installation around the famous Ecto-1 car in Derby’s biggest shopping centre. This create an immersive experience suitable for all the family, enabling customers to get up close and personal with the car, before experiencing the film on the big screen at the nearby Odeon Cinema. The stand also had a Sony Xperia 5 III available for demo purposes.

To raise awareness ahead of the Sony Ghostbuster’s campaign, we ran targeted digital adverts informing customers of our activation rolling into the Derbion Shopping Centre and to come down for the chance to win some goodies.

The result

Our collaboration with Sony not only met but exceeded expectations, leaving an indelible mark on Derby’s bustling shopping scene. The fusion of nostalgia and cutting-edge technology resulted in a captivating experience that seamlessly blended the iconic Ecto-1 car with the sleek Sony Xperia 5 III.
